    NEET 2020 MBBS All India Quota Seat Matrix

    There are presently i.e. as on 20th Sept 2020 total 541 medical colleges approved my Medical Council of India (MCI) across the country with annual intake of 80,312 MBBS Seats. Out of total 541 Medical Colleges 280 are Government Medical Colleges and 261 are Private Medical Colleges including Deemed Universities Medical Colleges. The medical colleges in the country has increased by around 45% in the last six years. In 2014, the number of medical colleges in the country was 381. The number of MBBS seats has increased from 54,348 in 2014 to 80,312 in 2020.

    NEET 2019 cutoff marks for Government Medical colleges for 15% All India Quota Seats: Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of MCC, releases the NEET allotment and admitted list after each Round for government colleges for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. NEET 2019 All India 15% cutoff has been prepared after the All India Counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Based on the MBBS allotment list released last year, All India Rank Cutoff Range has been arranged based on the Category for each college. Table below reports the AIR cutoff range for 15% All India Quota seats in government colleges released by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 2019 admission. This information possibly will help students to make the correct choice filling during the All India Quota Online NEET 2020 Counselling Process.

    NEET UG 2020 COUNSELLING

    The Counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and all seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats including AIIMS, JIPMER of ESIC & AFMC, Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) tentatively in second week of October for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses. The counselling for admission in seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned. The admitting/counselling authorities will draw merit list of the candidates in the respective categories, declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counseling.

    Counselling for Seats Under 15% All India Quota and all seats in Central Institutions Including AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, ESI, Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU and Deemed Universities

    Online counselling would be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services. Information for online counselling would only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in). Qualified candidates are advised to read the counselling related information carefully and understand the course of action to be taken by them for appearing in the Counselling. The counselling of NEET UG 2020 for 15% All India Quota seats will be conducted in two rounds and the counselling for Central & Deemed Universities will be conducted in three rounds First Round, second Round and Mop-Up Round. Any query related to 15 % All India Quota,  Central Institutions including AIIMS,JIPMER, AFMC, ESI, Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU and Deemed Universities Counselling may be referred to the following.

    Counselling for seats other than 15% All India Seats

    Candidates wishing to apply for admission in State Medical Colleges/ Universities/Institutions using merit list of NEET (UG) - 2020 shall follow the instructions of the State Government and/or authorities of the Medical/Dental colleges/Institution/University concerned for counselling. Counselling for Private Medical Colleges (except Deemed) will be with the respective State Governments.

    The admitting/counselling authorities will draw merit list of the candidates in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling. The NTA will not make any change in candidates’ data after the opportunity for the same is closed. In no case, the change of data submitted by candidate in the online Application Form shall be made by NTA, after declaration of result.

    In the application form, categories of the candidates have been obtained as per Central Category List. For the counselling and admission on seats other than 15% All India Quota Seats, candidates will register for counselling as per their eligibility by giving the category based on the State category list and merit list will be prepared accordingly by the concerned Counselling Authority. The domicile criteria would be as per the State concerned and NTA has no role to play in it. During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates shall be verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental Colleges.

    Note:

    All the medical colleges in India, including AIIMS and JIPMER institutions, will take admissions on the basis of NEET 2020 marks. Candidates who have qualified the exam can start preparing for All India and State level NEET 2020 counselling sessions for the admission. For government medical colleges, counselling for 15% of the seats is conducted by MCC and for the rest, 85% seat counselling is done by the state counselling authorities. For deemed and central universities the counselling for 100% seats is done by the MCC. On the other hand, counselling for admission to private and self-financed colleges is completely done by the respective state counselling authorities or committees.

    NEET UG 2020 Admission Procedure

    An All India Merit List of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of All India Rank in the Merit List of the NEET (UG) - 2020 and candidates shall be admitted to Undergraduate Medical Courses from the said list only, with existing reservation policy. NTA will only provide All India Rank to candidates, while Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities. Admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on All India Rank as per merit list of NEET (UG) - 2020.

    Admission to 15% All India Quota, shall be as per the provisions of the Statutory Regulation of MCI/NMC/DCI, the judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the procedure prescribed by the MCC under the DGHS. Similarly, for admission to 85% State Quota shall be also as per the provisions of the Statutory Regulations of MCI/NMC/DCI, the judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the prescribed rules and regulations by the State/Union Govt. or its designated authority.

    Admissions to all seats of Undergraduate Medical Courses will be done through NEET (UG) - 2020. The following are the seats available under different quotas:

    1. All India Quota Seats

        2. State Government Quota Seats

        3. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities

        4. State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental /Ayurveda /Siddha /Unani /Homeopathy Colleges or any Private University

        5. Central Pool Quota Seats

        6. seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non- minority medical colleges shall also be filled on the basis of merit obtained in NEET(UG) – 2020.

    • Indian Citizens/Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses from a foreign Medical / Dental /Ayurveda /Siddha /Unani /Homeopathy Institute need to qualify NEET (UG)-2020
    • The Counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and all seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, AIIMS & JIPMER will be conducted by the MCC/DGHS for Undergraduate Medical Courses. The counselling for admission to the seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.
    • The result of NEET (UG) - 2020 may be utilized by other entities of Central/State Governments for admission purpose in accordance with their rules.
    • During counselling, the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates shall be verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and/or Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy Colleges. NTA does not have any responsibility towards correctness/gentility of the uploaded information/documents during the application process.

    NEET UG 2020 Admission in State Medical Colleges /Universities/Institutions/Private Medical colleges for seats other than 15% All India Quota

    • Admission under State Quota Seats shall be subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State / Union Territory as notified by the respective State/Union Territory from time to time.
    • The reservation of the seats in medical colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in State/Union Territory concerned.
    • Admission to MBBS/BDS/AYUSH Courses in Private Medical Colleges shall be subject to policies of the Government of India/State/Union Territory.

    Admission to AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC and AFMC including BHU & AMU

    • Admission to AIIMS/JIPMER/Deemed Universities/Central Universities/ESIC including Delhi University (DU), BHU & AMU will be conducted by DGHS/MoA/AACCC and reservation policy will be as per rules and regulations of the concerned University or Institutions. Candidates should register on MCC website for admission to Deemed / Central University/ ESIC and AFMC for MBBS/BDS courses and AACCC website for admission to Deemed Universities/Central Universities/National Institutes for Undergraduate Medical Courses.
    • Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for NEET (UG) - 2020 and/or for seeking admission in AFMC also need to apply to AFMC on www.afmc.nic.in/www.afmcdg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening Test conducted by AFMC. Candidates are advised to contact AFMC for further and exact details. The Counselling will be conducted by DGHS.
    • Admission to Deemed Universities /Central Universities / ESIC Medical Colleges /AFMC/ BHU /AMU, shall be as per the provisions of the Statutory Regulations of MCI/ NMC/ DCI, the judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the procedure prescribed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
    • Further, the common counselling for admission to MBBS course in the concerned INIs shall be conducted by the DGHS as per the time schedule specified in the MCI’s regulations.
    • For all institutions, wherein Counselling is conducted by MCC under the DGHS, the candidates may refer to the Frequently Asked Questions published by MCC so as to determine their eligibility to appear in counselling for subsequent rounds including in respect of ineligibility on account of allotment of seats in the previous rounds of counselling in terms of regulation 5A(4) of the regulations Graduate Medical Eduction,1997 which provides for preventing seat blocking in common counselling for admission to MBBS course
    • For all institutions, wherein Counselling is conducted by the State I Union Govt. or its designated authority, the candidates may refer to the Counselling Notifications issued by the State I Union Govt. or its designated authority, so as to determine their eligibility to appear in Counselling for subsequent rounds, including in respect of ineligibility on account of allotment of seats in the previous rounds of Counselling in terms of Regulation 5A(4) of the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997 (Appendix-F) which provides for preventing seat blocking in common Counselling for admission to MBBS.

    NEET UG 2020 Reservations

    NEET UG 2020 Reservation of seats in Government Medical colleges under 15% All India Quota

    Reservation policy of the Government of India is applicable to NEET (UG) Examination. According to this, only in the Central Universities and Institutions, 10% of the seats are reserved for the category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe(ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer(OBC-NCL).

    NEET UG 2020 Seat Reservation

    • There are a certain number of seats reserved for various categories in 15% All India Quota. All candidates who belong to these categories will be eligible for admission on reserved seats under AIQ, if they meet the eligibility requirements. Check category-wise reservation below
